Rod D’Angelo Torres entered into eternal rest on December 22, 2021 at the tender age of 29. A native of Lubbock, TX; he was born to Roland Torres and Rebecca Sanchez on March 16, 1992. He now reunites with his maternal grandmother, Julia B. Sanchez; maternal grandfather, Leo Sanchez; paternal grandmother, Paula Torres; brother, Zekio Torres; and niece, Kaiden Torres.
Rod had the smile and spirit to brighten anyone’s day. He was the life of the party, always giving to others and lifting up people’s spirits, even when his days were troubling. He was a funny and social person, who always made sure people would “have a good day.”
Rod proudfully served as a 2ndLt. in the US Marines Corp. He received his BA in Psychology, when odds were against him, as well as making the Drill Team in Vermont and performing for the Queen of England. He enjoyed leather making as a hobby and collecting guns. He loved his motorcycle, a nice cup of coffee from Starbucks, or a good laugh with family and friends. A genuine, loving, caring and kind man who will be greatly missed by many.
He was the light and sunshine of his mother’s life, and he will forever be deeply missed by her, until they meet again.
Rod leaves behind to cherish his memories his mother, Rebecca Bengoa (Nate); father, Roland Torres (Yolanda); siblings: James Torres, Ruben Torres, Ysmael Gabriel Saldivar (Flora), Jeniffer Torres, Hannah Torres; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, and his fur baby pepper.
The family will be receiving guests at the funeral home on Monday, January 3, 2022 from 6pm-8pm with a Rosary at 7pm, and on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 5pm-8pm with a Rosary at 7pm. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 9:15am to celebrate at 10am Funeral Mass at St Joseph's Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
