Roland Lee Montgomery

Roland Lee Montgomery was born May 29, 1950, in Lubbock, Texas. He passed peacefully from this world after an extended illness, August 16, 2024, at the age of 74 years. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on August 24, 2024, at 3:00 PM at the Abbey Chapel at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock. Graveside services will follow at a later date at Berry's Creek Cemetery in Georgetown, Texas.

Roland was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Carol Montgomery. He is survived by his wife, Vicki Sybert Montgomery; sister Jody Montgomery Armstrong (Randy) of Tuscola, Texas; sister Jerry Montgomery (Jim Vaught) of Childress, Texas, nephew Eric Armstrong (Rebecca) of Abilene, Texas; great-nephew Benjamin Armstrong of Abilene and son Jason Swofford of Lubbock.

Roland was well known as a talented craftsman and master brick and stone mason. His work can be be seen on many buildings in Lubbock and across Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas. His keen wit, big, kind heart and sense of humor as dry as West Texas made him loved by his many family and friends.
