Ron was born on November 28, 1946, in Wickett, Texas, to Colleen McAuley Clark and R.L. Clark. He graduated from Duncan High School in 1965 and later earned his degree from the College of the Southwest in 1975. On June 20, 1966, Ron married the love of his life, Paula Barker. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and love, raising three daughters: Ronda, Dena, and Keri.
Ron’s career spanned many years and industries. He spent 20 years in the oilfield industry in Hobbs, New Mexico, worked for Bruckner Mack Trucks in Lubbock, and concluded his professional life as a nursing home administrator in various locations across West Texas, where he served both the residents and staff with the utmost love and care.
A man of deep faith, Ron’s greatest joy was his relationship with Jesus Christ and his family. He was a simple man with a big heart who loved to tease and make others laugh. He enjoyed good music and dancing, his wife’s home-cooked meals, playing golf, watching sports and westerns, and woodworking in his garage.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Paula; his daughters, Ronda Profitt and husband Robert of Lubbock, Dena Cator and husband Loyd of Perryton, and Keri Gassaway and husband Carey of Lakeway; his brother, Bill Clark of South Dakota; 14 grandchildren — Heather, Coby, Chase, Brooke, Riley, Sam, Will, Brittney, Haylee, Chandler, Braxtyn, Hunter, Anson, and Anzley — and 11 great- grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and dearly loved family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Mike Clark and Tuffy Clark; his sister, Claudia Kay Clark; granddaughter, Chloe Hendricks; and grandson, Brayden Hendricks.
Ron lived a fruitful and fulfilling life and leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and love that will continue to inspire all who knew him and memories that bring immense joy and often much laughter to those he touched.
