

Ronald Floyd Hunt, age 72, died July 1, 2012. Funeral service will be July 3, 2012 at 1 pm in Abbey Chapel, Resthaven Funeral Home, Lubbock, with Curtis Shelburne of Muleshoe officiating. Visitation will be Monday July 2, 2012 from 5 to 7 pm in Resthaven Funeral Home. Ronnie was born November 20, 1939 in Spur, Texas. Ronnie grew up around Levelland, and graduated from Whiteface High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society. He is survived by his wife, Linda, son Corbin Hunt, MD, daughter Bethanyanne Bahm and son-in-law Eric Bahm, grandchildren Pierce and Prescott Bahm, nephews Chris Wood, Craig Wood, Mike Taylor, Steve Bradley, nieces Johny Ruth Taylor, Terri Wright, and many other family members and friends. Preceding him in death were twin infant sons, his parents, Floyd and Leta Hunt, and three sisters, Anne, Joan, and Nell. He attended Texas Tech, and worked for Paymaster, Anderson Clayton, and later was self-employed as an accountant. He was active in Midwest Little League and served as its commissioner in 1983. Ronnie was an avid reader, enjoyed Texas Ranger baseball, and especially treasured the memory of a helicopter ride in Oahu, Hawaii and a trip to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons last October with his son, Corbin. Pall bearers will be: Clint Latham, Mike Latham, Steve Bradley, Mike Taylor, Delwyn Latham, Lance Latham, and Galin Latham. Honorary pallbearers will be: Ken Wesley, Jack Carlile, Don Nichols, Joe Stockton, Gaylord Latham, and David Elliott. The family suggests memorials in Ronnie’s memory be made to Uganda Mission, c/o Quaker Avenue Church of Christ, or New Mexico Christian Children’s Home of Portales.
