

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Macon and Virginia Sims; his sister, Shirley Pruitt; and his brother, James Sims.
Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Don Sims, and sister-in-law, Sandi Sims; nephews, Jimmy Dale Pruitt and Jerry Don Pruitt; nieces, Shelley Ann Sims, Shayne Sims, Kameron Wilder, and Shelly Dawn Sims; along with many extended family members, dear friends, and loved ones whose lives he touched throughout the years.
Ron proudly served his country in the United States Navy. During his military service, he was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Purple Heart, reflecting his courage, sacrifice, and dedication to his nation.
Following his military service, Ron continued his commitment to serving others through his work with the Veterans Administration in Amarillo, Texas, and Dallas, Texas, where he remained employed until his retirement.
A talented athlete, Ron played football for the Lubbock High School Westerners before continuing his education and graduating from Texas A&I University. Throughout his life, he built lasting friendships and was known for his loyalty, kindness, and unwavering spirit. His lifelong friends and family will remember him for the laughter, stories, and memories he shared.
Ron's legacy is one of service, perseverance, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rest in peace, Ron. We love you and miss you already. You will remain in our hearts forever, and your memory will continue to inspire those whose lives you touched.
