Ronna Marie Padgett

Ronna was born to Alice Caroline (Hackendorf) and Harold Wayne Roberts on July 14th, 1947, in Coffeyville, Kansas. She spent her early life in Wichita, Kansas and was a graduate of Wichita High School. Ronna met her husband Mack Padgett in 1964 while he was stationed at McConnell Air Force Base during his active-duty service. They married on January 15, 1965.

Mack’s military career led the family to many different places, but they eventually found home in Lubbock, TX where they raised three children, Mack Jr., Angela, and Trudi.

Once settled in Lubbock, Ronna earned her bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University and master’s degree from Wayland Baptist University. She went on to have a successful 32-year teaching career. She retired from Frenship Independent School District in 2014.

Ronna was a member of the Broadview Baptist Church where she enjoyed serving in the children’s ministry, teaching Sunday school, and faithfully participating in Operation Christmas Child.

After retiring, and the passing of her beloved husband of 50 years, she moved to Wichita Falls, TX to be closer to her daughters.

Ronna had a passion for the arts. Her best days were spent painting, sewing, playing the piano, reading her favorite novels, and enjoying whatever she was doing with a cup of coffee in her hand and a four-legged friend by her side. She will always be remembered for her love of animals, collecting, artmaking, spending time with her grandchildren, and of course music.

Ronna was preceded in death by her Husband Mack Padgett, Mother Alice Roberts, Father Harold Roberts, and sisters Margaret, Jessie, Darlene, Frankie Helen, and Roberta.

She is survived by her son, Mack Jr. and wife Sheila, of Wolfforth, TX; daughter, Angela and husband Ralph Cuevas, of Kingsville, TX; daughter, Trudi and husband Jeff Pittman, of Lakeside City, TX; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

The family extends their gratitude to the House of Hope for the care, compassion, and joy they provided to their mother and grandmother.
