

It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rosie Lara, a beloved sister, aunt, cousin, and treasured friend to so many. Rosie departed this life on May 31, 2026, at the age of 68. She was born on December 14, 1957, in Lubbock TX.
Rosie was known for her boundless compassion, joyful spirit, and the way she made everyone feel like an old friend from the very first meeting. She had a remarkable gift for connection, treating every person she encountered with kindness, warmth, and genuine care.
She dedicated over 30 years in education working for Frenship ISD where she made a lasting impact and built meaningful relationships with her coworkers, and she was deeply respected and loved by those she worked alongside. After her retirement she went on to continue her service to others as the business manager at Wolfforth Methodist Church. She loved her work dearly and all those she worked with at the church she loved so much. Her commitment to helping others, along with her cherished smile, reflected the warmth of her spirit and endeared her to so many throughout her life.
Rosie’s vibrant personality shone through in all her many interests. She loved traveling with her family and was always ready for an adventure. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family who were the center of her world. She never missed an opportunity to tell them how much she loved them, making sure each moment together was filled with affection and care. Rosie is survived by her beloved family, Sister Beta Lara, Brother Augustine Lara, and Niece Amanda Lara all from Lubbock.
She was preceded in death by her Father Paul Lara Sr., Mother Lurdes Lara, Brothers Paul Lara Jr., and Johnny Lara
A service to celebrate Rosie’s life will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Wolfforth Methodist Church under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
As we remember Rosie, we find comfort in the love she shared, and the many memories created with family and friends. She touched the lives of all who knew her and will be deeply missed. May her spirit continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
