Roy W Willis

Roy Weldon Willis, 66, of Lubbock, TX passed away January 6, 2015. He was born in Lubbock, TX on July 4, 1948. Roy graduated from Lubbock High School. He married the love of his life Carolyn Johnston on June 7, 1969. Roy served in the United States Army and then worked as a Postmaster for the US Postal Service in O’donnell, Ralls, and Post, TX. He was a member of Monterey Church of Christ, as well as, the Masonic Lodge, and had a passion for playing the guitar, acting in plays at the Garza Theater, playing with his grandchildren, and walking his dogs. Roy is preceded in death by his father Troy Ode Willis, and his brothers Troy Lee Willis and Johnny Willis. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Carolyn Willis; his mother, Lillie Mae Willis; his daughter, Patricia Willis Clemmons; his grandchildren, Madelyn Grace Clemmons, Cassidy Faith Clemmons; his brothers, Coy Willis, Jimmy Willis; and his sister, Annette Riggs. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Resthaven Funeral Home. A celebration of Roy’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2015 at Highland Baptist Church with interment to follow in Peaceful Gardens.
