He was a graduate of Bristol HS, Augustana College, Sioux Falls, SD with a BA in Business & South Dakota State University with a Master of Economics.
He began his military career at Reese AFB, Lubbock, TX and spent most of his career in the Air Force in the Minuteman Missiles field as a crewman, training instructor, SAC Inspector General Team member and Squadron Commander. He ended his USAF career at McConnell AFB, Wichita, Kansas. He worked & retired from Texas Rehabilitation Commission as Director of Personnel. He also taught part time at Waylon University and South Plains College in Lubbock.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rodney (Bustee) Kjosa & wife, Irma (Helming) Kjosa of Lily, SD.
He is survived by; his wife of 55 years, Jackie (Evans) Kjosa, 2 sons; David E Kjosa of El Paso, and Jon A Kjosa & wife, Lissa (Haggard) Kjosa, and 2 grandsons; Katon & Brek all of Lubbock. He has a brother and a sister; Roger Kjosa and wife, Arlyn of Orlando, FL, and Pamela (Kjosa) Block and husband, Leonard of Sioux Falls, SD. He leaves behind many in-laws, nieces, nephews & friends.
Royce will be honored with a military memorial presentation & celebration of life on February 24, 2021 at 10 AM at Resthaven’ s Abbey Chapel. Family & friends are invited to gather February 23, 2021 from 5-7 PM at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel. No graveside.
