Ryan Carl Yardley, 43, of Lubbock, Texas, left this world far too soon on August 17, 2025. To know Ryan was to know someone larger than life—full of grit, heart, and an unwavering love for his family, friends, faith, and his dogs.
Born on November 1, 1981, in Lubbock, Ryan grew up with a fearless spirit and a drive that carried him through every chapter of his life. He built a career as a driller in the oil field and could sell just about anything to anyone, not because of a pitch, but because people trusted him.
Ryan lived with passion in everything he did. He had a deep love for bull riding, a green thumb in the garden, and a special bond with his dogs who were truly part of his family. Known affectionately by many as “Rhyno,” Ryan’s strength, loyalty, and larger-than-life presence made a lasting impact on everyone blessed to know him. His faith was central to his life—he knew the Lord, leaned on Him, and carried a strong personal relationship with God that gave him strength and peace.
What Ryan loved most of all was his family. He was a proud dad to his children, Rylann Jean Yardley and Foster Leif Yardley, who were his greatest joy. He is also survived by his mother, Joni Yardley; his siblings, Eric and Callie Yardley; his grandmother, Carol Turner; and his loyal dogs, Solomon and Ruby. His love for family extended beyond blood—he was a brother, friend, and mentor to many.
He was welcomed into heaven by his father, Dennis Yardley; his grandparents, Ruby and Wilson Yardley, Leif Johnson, and Bob Turner; along with his beloved dogs War Dance, Monster, Ellie Mae, and Dover, who no doubt greeted him with tails wagging.
