Sam Ray Harkins passed away Sunday October 26, 2014 with his family at his side. A graveside service will be held on Saturday November 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM in Resthaven Memorial Park with his cousin, Steve Rogers officiating.
Sam was born on March 15, 1931 in Crosbyton, TX where generations of his family had worked and lived. Sam moved with his aunts to Lubbock where he became a proud graduate of Lubbock High School. At an early age Sam became a member of The Baptist Church in Crosbyton.
Sam worked as a Tex Pak driver until his retirement. Sam enjoyed watching TV, especially Texas Tech sports, and he was a big Tech supporter.
He was preceded in death by his parents ; and one brother David Harkins
He leaves to cherish his memories his sister Lynda Martyn and husband Jay; brother John Harkins and wife Joanna; sister-in-law Nancy Harkins; cousins, Linda Rakestraw, Ken Mills, Sara Wartes, Jim, Jeff, Mike, and Ed Hicks; and numerous nieces and nephews.
