Santos Avila Rodriguez

Santos Avila Rodriguez, 76, of Lubbock joined our heavenly father on Sunday, June 8, 2014 in Lubbock, TX surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 13, 1938 in Granger, TX to the late Feliciano and Francisca Avila Rodriguez. He was a loving father with a smile and laugh that would light up any room and bring joy to those around him. He cherished family outings, including camping and fishing, and any celebration that included dancing. He was a huge Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan and was a faithful, loving member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He leaves to cherish his memories Dominga Rodriguez and children Santos Jr., Margaret (Smilie) Garcia, Tony, Paula, David, Lucy (Mark) Pena, Peter (Stella) of Austin, TX, MaryHelen (Robert), Gabriel of Lubbock, TX; 31 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Maria Torrez of Irving, TX. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, beginning at 5:00 p.m., with a Rosary following at 7:00 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
