Shelia went to be with the Lord Jesus, her parents and her older brother at 2:15AM Monday morning. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, James R Terry; her children, Jim L. Terry, Mark E. Terry and Julie Flatt. Her legacy includes 5 Grandchildren, 7 Great-grandchildren, and 2 brothers. She is loved and will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
She passed from a lengthy battle with Lupus and respiratory issues. She was surrounded by her family as she passed. She fought the good fight and ran her race with love and honor.
Shelia was remembered as a true believer in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; and as a loving and generous mother and grandmother. She listened to all her nieces and nephews, and always approached them all with a heart that was loving and honest. She was endeared by all who knew her.
She was an avid singer and musician. She loved to sing and play hymns. There are many fond memories of her playing for church and singing specials for the congregations where she was a member.
She had one true love of the world. Her husband for 50 years, James (Ron) Terry. They lived in Lubbock and moved to El Paso when their children were small. They later moved back to the Lubbock area and back to Lubbock proper. An avid reader, and a wonderful memory served her well as she went into the service industry and later medical field where she worked for Dr. Charles Fisher and was an ophthalmologist tech. Her presence in the doctor's office was a comfort for the many patients in the practice. She worked there 21 years.
The scripture, John 13:35 best sums up her life, "By this all men will know you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
