

Shirley was born on October 24th, 1935, to parents Clifford and Juanita Ewing in Hamlin, Texas.
They moved to Lubbock in 1942, and Shirley graduated from Lubbock High School in 1954.
Shirley was a devoted sister, wife, mother, grandma and great grandma to all her family and was loved by all.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Donald Bailey, her brother, Doyle Edward Ewing, her son, Jimmy Don Bailey, and daughter in law, Jennie Bailey (Randy). Shirley is survived by her son Carey Bailey (Karen) of Lubbock, her son Randy Bailey of Idalou and her daughter Venita Garza (Gary) of Lubbock, her sister, Barbara Satterfield of Wolfforth and her brother, Charles Ewing of Lubbock
Shirley is also survived by her grandchildren Kyle Bailey (Linzi) of Lubbock, Brett Bailey (Krista) of Idalou, Brady Garza (Hayli) of Graham, Geoff Bailey (Stacy) of Lubbock, Dawson Garza of Austin and Colton Garza of Wolfforth, great grandchildren Jaxson Bailey, Harper Bailey, Braxton Bailey, Brooklyn Bailey, Brayden Bailey, Beckett Garza, Quinn Bailey and Bennett Garza. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
While Shirley was in high school, she participated in the Distributive Education Program and worked at Triple A Insurance Company in Lubbock. She continued there after graduation from High School. She then met and married James Donald on May 11th, 1957. Shirley became a Homemaker and while raising her own children, she kept many nieces, nephews and friends. In 1971, she helped operate the Original Doll House Café in Downtown Lubbock and continued that for 25 years. After that she never stopped working and began an ironing business for the public out of her home. She always enjoyed traveling with her family and preparing many great holiday meals. She was so dedicated to her family; she made many sacrifices to ensure their happiness. She will be missed and loved my many.
Funeral service will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, February 21st, 2025, at 1 pm with graveside service to follow.
