Sotero was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father Manuel and Victoria Gomez and stepmother Maria Delapaz Gomez, sisters Apolinia Gomez DeLeon, Maria Gomez, Josie Gomez, brother Bruno Gomez. And survived by Angie Rodriguez. He lived a long-fulfilled life as a proud member of the La Trinidad United Methodist Church and was a very kind and hardworking man. He cherished his family and did everything and anything for anyone who needed help. He was a farmer who continued to work until he physically couldn't work anymore. He loved fishing, gardening, and anything that had to do with the outdoors. Every time you would drive by his house you would see him sitting on the front porch waving at cars driving by. He was a survivor, and our family would say he must have been a cat with nine lives because he survived things many could not. His will to live for his wife and family made his strength and health impenetrable.
He married the love of his life Esther Gomez and they were inseparable for 61 years. His legacy still lives on through his 3 children. Sotero Gomez Jr. and his wife Modesta Gomez. Victoria Gomez-Medina. Mike Duarte, Diana Lara Gomez. Joshua Montijo. His legacy is passed down to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Michelle and her husband Eddie Flores, Anthony Medina, Alyssa Medina, Arial Montijo, Aaron and his wife Erika Montijo with their children Kobe, Keira and Mateo Montijo, and Elianna Hurtado and her fiancé Michael Moore.
We would like to thank Legacy of love for caring and loving Sotero like one of their own toward the end. As well as Dr. Ordonez for always being attentive with the family.
