Stella Ann Spradley

Stella Ann Simmons Spradley, 64, of Anton, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on February 13, 2022 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born in Crosbyton, Texas on October 25, 1957 to Kay Ann Isbell and was raised by Kay and C.K. Simmons. She graduated from Winston Churchill High School in San Antonio, Texas on May 28, 1975.

Stella started her career with the Houston Area Central Credit Union as a Loan Officer/Membership Officer. This position led her to a management position at the Bayou Bend Tower in Houston. After a year she was ready to return to her roots in Crosby County. From 1985-1999 Stella was employed by the Lorenzo Textile Mill in Lorenzo, Texas. Stella held the position of Office Manager until she was offered the position of Plant Manager in 1996. In 1997 while she was the Plant Manager she was elected by the stockholders as President of Lorenzo Textile Mill. She stayed with the company until 1999 when she decided it was time to take a break and live life.

Stella had a passion for life and was only missing one thing that she had delayed while raising her two kids and that was someone to share and enjoy life with. Unbeknownst to her, she would finally meet the love of her life and on September 26, 2003, Stella and Danny Spradley were joined in marriage. In attendance were their close friends and family along with their favorite horses. Stella and Danny would reside in Anton, Texas where they farmed and ranched and had a wonderful life together.

Stella is survived by her husband, Danny Spradley of Anton; her son John David Simmons of Lubbock; her daughter Christella Moser & husband Chris of Lubbock; her mother Kay Ann Isbell of Lubbock; her sister Reba Swink & husband Donnie of Crosbyton; and her stepsister Sue Hess & husband Conrad of Sicklerville, New Jersey. Stella has three grandchildren: Levi Simmons; Averi & Addisyn Moser. Stella also had one niece and three nephews: Kristen Jasso, Ross Cargile, and Van & Thomas Isbell. She is also survived by many loving cousins and three half-sisters.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert “Bob” Ellis (Papa), Estelle Stella Ellis (Nannie), her stepfather J.B. “Dutch” Isbell, and stepbrother Pete Isbell.

Visitation will be Monday, February 21, 2022, from 6PM-8PM at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock, TX. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at 10AM at St. Luke’s Methodist Church at 3708 45th Street, Lubbock, TX. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, Lubbock, TX.

Stella was very passionate about animals; she was a safe haven for many abandoned animals. Two of her favorite rescue centers were the Animal Rescue of Crosby County and Dove Creek Equine Rescue in Canyon.
