Our prayers will always be with the Frisbie family and Mr. Frisbie's memories will always be honored in our hearts. Mr. Frisbie was not Stephen or Paul to our family, he was Mr. Frisbie. He was a man with so much compassion, very gentle and always with a smile. He always had something nice to say. He was a man that would do anything for his family. He was a man with a big heart! Our son Adrian is truly blessed to have had Mr. Frisbie as his father-in-law. I thank my Lord Jesus that Mr. Frisbie was able to spend his last months getting to know Little Hunter, his grandbaby. Mr. Frisbie you are loved and someday we shall see you again...

To:  Pat, Angela, Steven, and Kathleen,...a few of my memories of my brother Paul

It was my gift to be the oldest of seven children.  Paul was born when I was seven years old.  The memories of those early years run together like flipping the pages of a book.  When Paul was a baby, every one was delighted with his big brown eyes and sweet disposition.  He grew out of the big brown eyes but he kept that gentle, positive disposition for the rest of his life.  Paul had some frightening times when he was small.  Grandma Frisbie’s cat clawed his head and they tried to stop the bleeding with flour, making him look like whip cream with strawberries on top.  I also remember when the plane crashed in December 1944.  We had to escape a burning house and yard at night in the snow, all of us terrified and clinging to each other for safety.

  I remember asking Paul to help me with my paper route when he was about 4-5 years old and he reluctantly agreed.  I had about 60 papers to deliver and all of them had to be porched.  I gave Paul 13 papers to deliver to the people on our block.  He did well for a while but soon tired of the “chore”.  The last day he “helped” me was the day he delivered all 13 papers to one house.  I, of course, showed him my brotherly lack of appreciation for his help.  In September, 1948 we moved to San Antonio from Sioux City, Iowa and we all had that new school experience as “that Iowa kid.”  After just a year in San Antonio, we moved to Lubbock.  I remember that John and Paul were the best of buddies and were constantly challenging each other with their “physics” adventures, experiments and inventions.  Paul went into the Seminary in his early teen years at just about the same time I went into the Navy and I imagine he was as homesick as I was.  He stuck to it and although he decided against the priesthood, I believe it made him into the man we all loved and respected.  

Paul’s Navy time from 1967 to 1969 and his electronics training set him on a path he followed the rest of his life.  Paul and Patricia Lynn Kelley were married in 1970 which created some minor confusion as Patricia Lynne Talley and I were married in l964.  This forever after resulted in “Paul’s Pat” and “Dick’s Pat” for family members to sort out.  
In the following years as our families grew, I always enjoyed hearing Paul talk about his kids successes, Angela’s art,...Kathleen’s athletics,...and Steve’s academic progress.  He always spoke with joy and pride in his voice when he spoke of you.  We also shared Paul’s concern when Pat had her health problem and his pride when he spoke of her teaching and professional successes.

There is a hole in the middle of our family with the losses of Mike, John, and now Paul that is filled with memories of holidays, vacations, paper routes, and picnics.  We will treasure these forever and we will greatly miss Paul.  He was “the sweet one” as Mom called him.

What a neat on-line tribute to your dad. I especially like the Father's Day photo. I only talked to your dad a handful of times. I remember he was so tall! And he was a kind gentleman. I could tell he was the rock of the family but a softie for his girls. Your family is in our thoughts & prayers.

"One of my favorite memories of your Dad was that he was always at our intramural basketball games at FCN....Even though we didn't win many games, you could always rest assure that he and your mom would always be on the bleachers cheering us on so faithfully!!! It was always great to have them as fans!! He just enjoyed watching us play....Through his family and friends and my brother and what I saw, he was a great, great loving family man. I have known Mr. Frisbie for almost 15 years.  During that time he really touched my life. He introduced me to a different aspect of American culture like music of Ray Stevens.  I always enjoyed his company and he always had good stories to tell. Most of the tools that I own came from him as christmas presents. I remember that he was the first person that I saw using a GPS back in 1998 before GPS became a common gadget like it is today. He had a eclectic collection of old computers, old cash registers and other old gadgets that he took pride in explaining how they worked and how they have changed today. He was like an walking-talking enclopedia of knowledge.  I will always miss him. He was a special person. Hope he is at peace now.

for my beloved brother paul..so many wonderful memories to share..cinnamon toast when i was sick, stories at bedtime,teaching me to drive your little english ford (and you were patient, even when i "borrowed" your  car! )arranging the taped music for my wedding reception,crystal and china shipped from japan in your navy days,being my wedding photographer,soothing my fears in a panic attack, and just being the kind and gentle soul you were..i was so blessed to have you in my life..i miss you and i know you are with john, mike, mom and dad,and as the song says.."i hope you dance"...susie (you were the only one whoever called me "little one",even recently, and i loved it)...

To Steve's family, we offer our sincere sympathy.  Please be assured that Steve is with the Lord.

Steve and I were in the seminary together in Oklahoma and then in San Antonio.  It was because of the wonderful charity of Steve and his Dad that I got to spend several holidays with my parents.  They would always bring me from San Antonio to Lubbock where my parents would come to pick me up.  Those were some very memorable trips.

The two years that Steve and I spent together in Oklahoma durning highschool seminary bring back fond memories.  I remember us trying to make a small little rocket and the trying to launch it out of an old plumbing pipe.  The thing actually flew for a short distance -- and we didn't blow ourselves up either.

I know the Lord will gladly welcome Steve into HIS Kingdom.  Steve please remember all of us still here as we work towards that day when we join you.

Dear Pat and children, we're so very sorry to hear this sad news.  We worked with Steve for many years at Hester's and will dearly miss him.  He was always full of happiness and such a joy to be around.  Our deepest condolences.

Dear Frisbee family,
Steve and  were friends at age 7...and were in scouts together at St.Elizabeth's.  I always considered him one of my best childhood friends...and please know how a long time friend of him thought so well of him and valued his friendship.  God bless you ....are all in my prayers.

I was in Scout Troop 91 at St. Elizabeth with Steven and Mike in the 1950's. I have many fond memories of our camping trips, Scout meetings and earning merit badges together. To those who loved Steven, during this time of grief, I pray you will have the grace and peace that comes only from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank God there is a resurrection and that we will see Steven again.

Pat,  I am so sorry to hear about Steve.  Jim thought so much of Steve and enjoyed working with him for the past several years.  Steve was so kind to me when I lost Jim almost 8 months ago and I will always remember him for that.  I have other women who have lost their husbands reach out to me and it helped so much.  I want you to know I am here if you ever want to visit or just to have someone listen.  I really mean this.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Frisbie Family,
Thank you so much for posting the photos of Paul online. It gives an out of state cousin a small glimpse into the life of a man who I only met once but remember as kind and gentle. I am sure you all miss his presence in your lives.
