

Susan Ann Beardain, 65, went to be with the Lord on August 13, 2020 in Lubbock, Texas. Susan was born on March 17, 1955 to Franklin and Peggy Miller in San Angelo, Texas. Susan attended high school in San Angelo and then went on to earn an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration.
In 1972, she moved to Lubbock, Texas. Susan worked in Human Resources for PCCA, Lubbock TANK, Anderson Clayton, American State Bank, and Prosperity Bank. She was a member of the Lubbock SHRM from 1979 to 2018, where she was, at one time, the president, and after many years of service, received the SHRM Legacy Award. She was also a volunteer for the Make a Wish Foundation.
Susan married Rex Beardain, Jr. on December 11, 1997 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Susan loved her years at American State Bank and Prosperity Bank until she retired in March of 2018. Susan’s favorite hobbies were quilting, sewing, craft shows, and watching football. She also enjoyed fishing with Rex up until they got lost at 3:00 in the morning on a 20,000 acre lake. She and Rex attended Methodist and Church of Christ churches. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Covenant ICU for being so good to Susan. She will be deeply missed.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Franklin Miller of San Angelo (2004) and Peggy Miller of Lubbock (2016).
She is survived by her husband, Rex Beardain, Jr.; children, son, Ross Hail and wife Cheryl of Fort Worth and daughter, Amy Jones of Lubbock; step-children, Brandon Beardain and wife Rebecca of Lubbock, Blake Beardain and wife Amy of McKinney, and Brittany Meloy and husband Cayton of Wolfforth; grandchildren, Chloe Jones, Hunter Hail, Kingston Hail, Jagger Hail, Sarah Beardain, David Beardain, Andrew Beardain, Emily Beardain, Laykin Meloy, Mayson Meloy, and Lilly Beardain; sister, Judy Bouton of Abilene; niece, Britney Bouton of Abilene; and nephew, Bryan Bouton of Abilene.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 19th, at Resthaven Funeral Home Abbey Chapel at 9:00AM. A celebration of Life service will continue afterward under the Resthaven Funeral Home Portico beginning at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, the family would like for you to make a donation to Meals on Wheels.
