Suzanne was born on August 31, 1939, to Kyle and Edna Ratisseau. In 1957, she married the love of her life, Carroll Stephens, and together they had two daughters, Carolanne and Lynda Lea.
Affectionately known as "Gahmy" to so many, she was full of life. She lived every day to the fullest, lit up every room she entered, and was always the life of the party!
Above all, Gahmy's faith was strong. It was the foundation of her love for life and the source of her joy and happiness. She loved her family and friends with her whole heart. Gahmy’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest treasures. She adored them without measure and was always there to support and cheer them on.
Her motto was "Life is not a dress rehearsal, so you might as well live and have fun while at it!" She lived by those words every single day, and all who knew her are better for it.
Suzanne is survived by her daughter Carolanne Purtell and husband Jim of Lubbock; grandson Adam Purtell and wife Danae of Lubbock; granddaughter Allison Henson and husband Josh of Dallas; her seven great-grandchildren; sister Diane Cadenhead of Dallas; brother Wayne Ratisseau of Horseshoe Bay; and several adored nieces and nephews.
Suzanne was preceded in death by daughter Lynda Lea; husband, Carroll; parents, Kyle and Edna Ratisseau; and brother Ronald Ratisseau.
A celebration of Gahmy's life will be held on October 21 at 2pm at Lake Ridge Chapel & Memorial in Lubbock. In lieu of flowers, Gahmy would like donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Dell Children’s Hospital, Lubbock Meals on Wheels, or charity of your choice.
Gahmy wants us to keep the party going, keep our faith, keep praying, keep laughing, and keep those pom poms up!
