

Sylvia or as her family and friends like to call her “Sister”, was born in Dallas, Texas on September 14, 1928. She was a graduate of Forest Ave. High School. She attended SMU and UT Austin where not only did she major in Geology but met the man of her dreams. Dr. Joseph Mann Lehman and Sylvia Moss married on June 20, 1948. Sylvia “Sister” was an active lady and belonged to many organizations including the Woman’s division of Chamber of Commerce, Heritage Study Club, Lubbock Symphony Guild, Garden Clubs, West Texas Museum Assoc., past President of the Lubbock County Garza Medical Auxiliary, past board member of Lubbock Woman’s Club as well as the Lubbock General Assisstant. She served as a pink lady at Methodist and St Mary’s hospitals and the House committee of the Lubbock Country Club. She was a Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout leader and belonged to the PTA. Finally, she was on the building committee of Shearith Israel Congregation in Lubbock and also a member of Temple Beth-El in San Antonio.
Sylvia is survived by her wonderful children; Mickey Lehman Gross and husband Steven, Mike Lehman and his wife Evelyn, Rene´ Lehman; her one and only granddaughter, Shana Lehman Fishman and husband Jason, not to mention 2 great-grandchildren, Madison and Mallory. She also leaves behind her trusty and loyal companion, Tux.
Her family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Covenant Hospital for everything they had done during this time of sadness. Words cannot express the love this woman has left in the hearts of family and friends. You are truly one of a kind Sister. Your legacy will live on forever. We love you and miss you greatly.
