Sylvia was born to Brycie and Roe Dalton on October 2nd, 1937, in Lockney, Texas.
She later attended Frenship High School where she enjoyed playing basketball and cheerleading. It was here that she met the love of her life, Donald Preston. Sylvia and Donald were married on April 30th, 1955, and went on to welcome four beautiful children into the world.
Sylvia and Donald worked side by side their entire lives, first as farmers until 1972, and later as owners and operators of Preston Meat Packers for over 25 years.
Sylvia was a pillar in the Wolfforth community, she served her community as a member of Wolfforth City Council and later as the mayor.
While she adored her community, her faith and family always came first. Sylvia spent her years worshiping at Wolfforth Methodist Church, and enjoying every second she could with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Preston; daughter, Gaye Johnson; brother, Sydney Dalton; and sister Rowena Booher.
Those left to carry on her legacy include her sons; Danny Preston and wife Amy of Tahoka, Texas; Leslie Preston of Brownfield, Texas; Curtis Preston and wife Karie of Muleshoe, Texas; 9 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
