With profound sadness and endless love, we announce the passing of Terri Leann Holmes, who departed this life on July 17, 2026. Terri was born on June 4, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois, to Helen Horn and John Riley White. She lived a life defined by love, strength, grace, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
Terri shared an extraordinary love story with the love of her life, Calvin Holmes. Together, they built a marriage that spanned 40 beautiful years. Side by side, they created a warm and welcoming home where family always came first. Together they raised three wonderful children: Robin, Gregory, and AJ, who were the pride and joy of her life.
To know Terri was to know someone who carried herself with beauty, elegance, and class. She had a radiant smile, a compassionate heart, and a spirit that could brighten even the darkest days. She was a woman of incredible strength and determination, never afraid of hard work and always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Terri had a vibrant personality that reflected her love of bright colors. Whether it was the clothes she wore, the decorations in her home, or the flowers she admired, she embraced color as a celebration of life itself. Her warmth, sense of humor, and joyful spirit made every gathering a little brighter.
Above all else, Terri's greatest accomplishment and deepest love was her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, a cherished daughter, and a beloved sister. Terri is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Calvin Holmes; her loving father, John Riley White, and his wife, JoAnn White; and her three beloved children: Robin Sanders and her husband, Shon Sanders; Gregory Boyer and his wife, Kimberly Boyer; and AJ Holmes and his wife, Nikki Holmes.
She also leaves behind the lights of her life, her cherished grandchildren: Korbin, Aech, Kandyce, Jaxson, Carter, Riley, Audrey, Kenady, Kara, and Karter. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she treasured every moment spent watching them grow, celebrating their accomplishments, and showering them with love.
Terri is also survived by her beloved siblings: Mike White, Eddy White, and Shawnee Cust, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, lifelong friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
Terri was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Helen Horn, whose memory remained close to her heart throughout her life.
While her family grieves the unimaginable loss of her physical presence, they find comfort in knowing that her love will continue to guide them. Terri Leann Holmes leaves behind a legacy of love that will never fade. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered. Though she is no longer by our side, she will remain forever in our hearts until we meet again.
