Terry Lee "Pa" Matthews

Terry Lee “Pa” Matthews, 57 of Lubbock was called home to be with his Lord and savior on January 19, 2017. Terry was born on January 12, 1960 in Lubbock, Texas to Roy and Reba Matthews. He attended Lubbock Christian High School. Terry worked for his brother at Matthews Backhoe Service for forty-one years.

He loved the outdoors and was an avid gun collector. He loved helping his mother in the garden and was known for making the biggest and best bon fires at Halloween. He had a soft spot for animals and loved his “Tiny Dog”. Terry was a member of the Church of Christ. He had a tender heart and was a loving son, brother, father and grandfather.

Terry was preceded in death by his father Roy Eldon Matthews, a nephew Sean Sandlin, a great-nephew Roy “Fella” Matthews III, as well as his grandparents and many aunts and uncles.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother Reba Matthews, two daughters Amy Cole and Lyndi Crutcher and husband, Adam of Amarillo; one granddaughter, Hannah Cole; and three grandsons, Clayton Cole, Caleb Crutcher and Logan Crutcher. He is also survived by a brother Corky Matthews; and two sisters Jalain Sandlin and Brenda Murphy and husband David of San Angelo, as well as many nieces and nephews.
