Thad graduated from Bovina High School then attended Texas Tech University where he graduated with a Plant and Soil Science Bachelor degree and then went on and achieved a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics. Thad then began to work as a personal investment broker for First Investors, then Fidelity, for over 22 years in Los Colinas, Texas. He medically retired in 2007. He struggled with Type I diabetes for over 48 years.
Thad was a true gentleman, an avid fisherman and a loyal and friend. He had a generous heart and loved to share his hard work experience, especially about fishing with anyone who asked.
He is survived by his sister, Ryn Rains of Post, TX; step-mother, Carolyn Rains of Fort Worth, TX; two aunts, Jimmie Lueder of Albuquerque, NM and Geneva Fletcher of Ropesville, TX; and numerous loving cousins.
Thad was preceded in death by his father, Jack Rains; mother, Marilyn Rains; and his beloved grandparents, Carl and Penny Rains and Velma Fletcher.
Viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 11, 2020 at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel.
Graveside Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park.
