Tom McMurry

Thomas “Tom” McMurry passed away January 10, 2019. A time of fellowship and remembrance is scheduled 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life of 85 years at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 14, 2019, at Westmont Christian Church. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 p.m in the Dumas Cemetery, Dumas, TX.Tom was born on December 9, 1933 to the late Thomas and Elsie (Rimerz) McMurry in Dumas, TX. Tom loved his family, reading his Bible, and watching Charles Stanley. He enjoyed his work as a Frito Lay salesman for many years; his hobbies included pheasant hunting, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and cars--he considered himself quite a “car buff”.Survivors include his children, Mike (Linda) McMurry of Lubbock; Linda Sue Hill of Pasadena, and Deborah Kaye (Mark) Doherty of Austin; grandchildren, Jeremy Scott (Crystal) McMurry, Jonathan (Sarah) McMurry, Christopher (LaRanda) McMurry, Kellye, Linda Michelle, and Brian (Jennifer); 7 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
