Victor H. Torres

Victor H. Torres 71, of Lubbock went to be with the Lord on October 27, 2013. Funeral Services for Victor will be Monday, November 11, 2013 at Christ the King Cathedral at 2pm with Father Bill Anton Officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday Novemeber 10, 2013 from 5 to 7 at Resthaven Funeral Home.

Victor was born on June 16, 1942 in Bay City, Michigan to Domingo and Julia Torres and grew up in Ida, Michigan. After graduating he joined the Air Force and traveled the world. Working his way to Senior Master Sergeant, he married Socorro Reyes of Lubbock on June 6, 1964. Victor worked instrumental in the technology of the aircraft engines of the Air Force until he retired in 1991. He worked for Sodexho Corporation from March 30, 1992 to October 27, 2013, where he worked as assistant custodial night director of housekeeping. Victor was an avid fan of muscle cars and airplanes, with a collection exceeding over 50 of each. He also collected and built model cars in his spare time, which numbered between 60 to 100.

Victor was preceded in death by his wife Socorro, 1997, parents Domingo, 1983 and Julia, 1998, brother Danny of Dundee, Michigan, 2005 his brother Joe “Mondo” of Toledo, Ohio, 2006 and brother in law Randy, 2009.

He is survived by his only grandchild Nicholas of Lubbock, daughters Victoria and husband Aurelio of Lubbock, Linda of Stowe, Pennsylvania, son Michael of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, 4 sisters Mary and Irene “Nene” and Loisa all of Monroe Michigan. Julie of Lincoln Park, Michigan. 1 younger brother Richard of Clinton, Michigan and many nieces and nephews in and around the Monroe, Michigan area.
