Virginia graduated from Topeka, KS high school in May of 1941 and she married Forrest Baker May 17 1944. In 1957 she took a correspondent course from Art Instruction School. She worked for Dunlap’s Departments Store for 4 years before moving to Lena Stephens Department Store where she worked for 29 ½ years. Virginia was a meticulous housekeeper and loved to work in the garden. She taught her family strong work ethics and family values.
Survivors include her son Randy of Lubbock; grandchildren, Laurisa Murrow of Monument Colorado, Brandon Baker of Lubbock and Roxanne Williams of New Home, TX; 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Forrest Baker Jr and Bill Baker, and a grandson, Dee Baker.
