

Virginia Hobbs Lott, 97, of Lubbock, went to be with her Lord on September 06 after a brief illness. A visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 5 until 7pm. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at First Baptist Church in the Ford Chapel at 10:00 am Wednesday September 11, 2013 with Dr. D.L Lowrie Officiating. Interment will be held Thursday September 12, 2013 at 11:15 am at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Virginia was born July 25, 1916 in Dallas, Texas to Taylor R. and Alice Hobbs. Virginia attended elementary school in Decatur, Illinois and high school in Lorenzo, Texas. She married her high school sweetheart, A.W. Lott, on October 22, 1935 in Lorenzo, Texas. They celebrated their 77th wedding anniversary last year.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert and Joe Hobbs.
She is survived by her husband and three sons, Kenneth and wife Linda, of Dallas Texas; Jim of Kingsland, Texas, and David of Pompano Beach, Florida; 3 grand children, Craig and Maury Lott, Chris and Sandra Lott, and Robyn and Phillip Tilger, as well as 2 step grand children, Kyle and Cheryl Wright, and John and Stephanie Roberts all of the Dallas, area; 9 great grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren.
She was active in her church, both first Baptist Church in Lorenzo and Lubbock. After moving to Lubbock in 1970 she served as WMU president, Sunday School Secretary of Adult Dept., member of the Good News S.S. Class as well as the sanctuary choir and Prime Time Choir. She was a tireless Volunteer at UMC, as well as other organizations.
In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to First Baptist Church Lubbock Missionary Fund.
