Virginia “Ginny” Lea Satterwhite, 70, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025. Ginny was born on March 17, 1955, in San Angelo, Texas, and lived a life defined by compassion, faith, and service to others.
A graduate of Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, Ginny devoted her career to caring for those in need. She had a gift for making people feel seen and cared for, and she never missed a chance to share a smile, a story, or a word of encouragement.
Ginny’s greatest joy was her family. She was a loving mother, sister, and aunt whose warmth, humor, and kind heart brought comfort and laughter to all who knew her. She took great strength from her faith and found peace knowing that she would be reunited with her husband, James Satterwhite, and her parents, James and Vonda Neece.
She is survived by her daughter, Deidra Satterwhite of Lubbock; her sister, Connie and husband Scott Sim of Lubbock; her brother, David Masters and wife Brenda of Midlothian, Texas; along with several nieces and nephews who dearly loved their Aunt Ginny. She is also survived by longtime family friend, Sarah McDuff, who became like a second daughter to Ginny and held a special place in her heart.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the Green Lawn Church of Christ in the Fellowship Hall, located at 5701 19th Street, Lubbock, Texas. The gathering is scheduled for November 15, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Foster A Life (https://fosteralife.org/donations/), an organization in Lubbock that supports children in foster care—a cause close to Ginny’s heart and reflective of her lifelong commitment to helping others.
