She was born on 12/16/1939 in Navarro County to E. L. & Ruby Oliver.
Virginia attended Cotton Center and graduated in the class of 1958. She later went on to obtain a Bachelors of Science in Education from Texas Tech in 1963. Virginia then began her career in teaching, working for Ropes ISD as an elementary school teacher.
Virginia married Weston Terry on May 18, 1963, in Levelland Texas.
Virginia was a charter member of LifePoint Baptist Church of Lubbock and had a passion for horses, and will always be remembered for the love she had for her nieces, nephews, horses, and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Virginia is preceded in death by the love of her life Weston Terry; her father E. L. Oliver; her mother Ruby Oliver; her brother Vance E. Oliver; her great nephew Matthew Harris; her nephew Michael Dean Oliver; and her niece Yvonne Lee Oliver.
She is survived by her brother Robert Lee Oliver; her sister-in-law Doris Oliver; her nieces and nephews Vance E. Oliver II, Veronica Rhea Harris, Jay K. Oliver, Debbie K. Holbert, Terry Lynn Neal and Tonya Kizer, as well as numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Resthaven Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that make a memorial donation to LifePoint Baptist Church. The family would also like to thank the staff of Windmill Village Nursing Home and Pastor Richard Harbison.
