

Harold Wayne Brasell, of Lubbock, Texas passed away on April 19, 2026, his 90th birthday. He was born in 1936 in Crosby County, to John and Lottie Brasell. He attended Seagraves High School. He served In the US Air Force where he met his wife, Betty. He worked as a pipefitter and then worked as a salesman in the HVAC industry until he retired. He married Betty Karnes in Wellington; Texas on August 31,1957 and they had three daughters.
Wayne was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union for many years. Wayne and Betty were avid square dancers. They were local officers in the Lubbock Area Square and Round Dance Federation for many years. Later they were officers for 5 years in the Texas State Federation of Square and Round Dancers, culminating as President. Wayne loved to travel. He and Betty traveled to many states and Canada in their RV. They enjoyed taking several trips with their grandchildren to Florida, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, Montana, Utah, Arizona. Wayne went to Scotland, Ireland, England, Wales, and Iceland late in life. Wayne also loved golf, poker, and all Texas Tech sports.
Visitation will be Sunday May 3rd from 2-4 pm, at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Highland Baptist Church, on May 4, at 10 am.
Wayne is predeceased by his wife, and he was the last remaining Brasell sibling of the original nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by three daughters, Lea Ann McGee, Tresa Brasell, and Katrina (Mike) Putman, 10 grandchildren: Mike McGee (Rachel), Nick McGee (Brittney), Brandi O’Dowd (William), Whitney Archer (Daniel), Jared Putman, Lorin LeBlanc, Taylor Altomore (Jared), Summer Putman, Luke Putman (Krista), and Cody Putman, 16 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
