Celebration of Life Services for Weldon H. Pickens, 81 of Lubbock will be held at 10 A.M. Friday, April 27, 2018 at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel with John Elstrod officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Weldon passed from this life Saturday, April 22, 2018 in Dallas. He was born October 5, 1936 in Elsa, Texas to the late I.H. and Elizabeth (Moore) Pickens. He married Joyce Burrow October 12, 1959.
Weldon served in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1958 and was employed by SPS for 36 years.
Weldon was predeceased by his parents, a brother, Nolan and a grandson Jonathan.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his loving wife, Joyce; daughter, Betty
(Roy) of Orlando, FL; sons, Lee (Jana) of Ft. Smith, AR; Rex (JoAnna) of Claremore, OK; Billy (Deborah) of Slaton, TX; and Toby (Leigh) of Allen, TX; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; two brothers, David and John Wayne and two sisters, Jeanette and Joy.
