William Francis “Bill” Goodwin, Sr., 86, of Lubbock, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at his home. Bill was born in November of 1930 in Monticello, Arkansas to the late Francis Hilton and Lena Nell Goodwin.
He was raised in Arkansas and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Arkansas. He married Mary Jane McDonald on August 23, 1951 in Smackover, Arkansas. Bill retired from Lubbock National Bank after many years of service, and had also served as a non-medical Consultant for several committees at TTU Health Sciences Center for several years.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Jane; 5 children; Nancy Teague (Darrell) , William Francis Goodwin, Jr (Leann), Melissa Riggan (Derrell), Pam McLaughlin (Wes) and Beth Jolly (Mark); 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and one sister, Josie O’Bannon; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
