
William Gale Hooper was called to be with the Lord on December 13, 2018 at the age of 77. He is now reunited in heaven with his wife and mother and father, all of whom he loved dearly. The family invites friends to join them for a time of fellowship and remembrance on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and a Grand Celebration of Gale’s life at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 22, 2018. Both events will be held at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers.Gale was born on April 13, 1941 to Leslie and Doris (Smith) Hooper in Lubbock, TX. He graduated from Lubbock High School, attended South Plains College, and married Linda Justus on November 27, 1969. He was a firefighter for the Lubbock Fire Department for 33 years and retired as District Chief in the year 2000. He also had a successful dual career at the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, starting at a young age as a paperboy and retiring as Circulation Director. He will be remembered for his strong values, his deep love of family and his firefighter brothers, his passion for playing cards and fishing, and his great love of cruising. Gale was Texas tough and was most at peace at his ranch, which he called God’s country, with his dog Maggie. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.He was preceded in death by his parents, Les and Doris Hooper; wife, Linda Hooper; and father and mother-in-law, Mac and Doris Justus.Survivors include his daughters, Kim (Larry) Grant of Katy, Tracey Parnell of San Antonio, Dana (Paul) Canales of Boerne, and Danee (Trey) Pfeiffer of Richmond, son, Cruz (Anel) Hooper of Helotes; grandchildren, Chris (Wendi) Holden, Jessica (Chester) Hahn, Lauren Grant, Jennifer (Brannon) Alcoser, Brandon Hambright, Ashley Hambright, Sydney Vila, Taylor Vila, Madison Vila, Blake Canales, Jacqueline Pfeiffer, Brittany (Will) Frank, Hannah Hooper, and Greyson Hooper; great-grandchildren, Derek Holden, Abigail Holden, Jace Beacorn, Brisa Hambright, Layton Mitchell, and Wesley Frank; sister Karen Jordan (David) Crook of Lubbock; sister-in-law Shirley (Mike) Williams, many loving nieces and cousins, and his beloved firefighter brothers.
