

Dr. Brian Comstock died peacefully in Dartmouth/Hitchcock hospital on May 16th in Lebanon, New Hampshire at the age of 70. Brian was predeceased by his wife Elaine.
Brian is survived by his children, Gregory and his partner Jim of Terryville, CT, and Matthew and his wife Joanne of Wolcott, CT. He is also survived by his grandson Sebastian.
He is also survived by his two step-sons Michael and Neil Carroll.
Brian was born on February 16th, 1947 in Danbury, CT the only child of Howard and Emely Comstock. He graduated high school from Wooster High in Danbury. He then went on to Yale University and graduated at the top of his class. From there he went on to graduate with a medical degree from Penn State University and on to do his residency and orthopedic residency at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut.
After moving to Bristol, Brian opened his own private practice for orthopedics. Brian was a skilled orthopedic surgeon and was the first to perform a total knee replacement at Bristol Hospital. After many years in private practice Brian went on to work for MedWorks of Bristol Hospital.
He and Elaine retired to Vermont where he was a generous individual who loved a wide variety of hobbies including hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles.
He was an active and dedicated member of the United Church of Ludlow and the American Legion in Vermont. He was also a member of the Bristol Fish and Game club in Bristol, CT.
A funeral is scheduled for Friday June 2nd at 11:00am in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Ludlow, VT. Reverend Dr. Donald E. Harpster will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Brian's life.
