Elaine Theresa Comstock

Elaine Theresa (McCormick) Comstock 66 passed away at home May 1, 2017 following a long illness. She was born June 13, 1950 in Hartford, CT., spent her childhood in Avon, CT., graduating from Avon High School in 1968. She had been employed for several years at Connecticut General Insurance Company, Bloomfield, CT., prior to retirement.

Elaine lived many years in Bristol, CT. She enjoyed skiing, snow mobile and motorcycle riding. She and her husband Brian E. Comstock, M.D. then moved to Proctorsville, VT following his retirement. This move allowed them to fully enjoy the many outdoor activities in Vermont. They had many friends both in Bristol, CT and Proctorsville. They enjoyed the many activities held at the American Legion Post 36, in Ludlow, Vermont.

She is survived by her two sons; Michael Carroll of Phoenix, AZ and Neil Carroll of Bristol, CT. She is also survived by her sister and brothers: Jane Olivera of Bonita Springs, FA; Patrick (Nelda) McCormick of Columbus, MS; Leo (Leslie) McCormick of Ocala, FA, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her parents Emil and Jeanne Fournier as well as a brother Robert Fournier.

A memorial graveside service will be held Friday, June 2, 2017 at 11 A.M. at the Pleasant View Cemetery, Ludlow, VT. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial donations be sent to the American Legion Post 36, Ludlow, VT or to a charity of the sender’s choice.
