In 1984, RHS was having a lot of difficulty with student abuse towards teachers, tardiness as well as downright insubordination. The school was making an effort to correct such matters, and Mr. Fitzgerald formally House Master (B) was promoted to principle. Likewise at the time Mr. Bellino took the position of House Master (B). Then and now I am unsure if he knew of the condition of the school, or what tasks were in store.

At first I got to know Mr. Bellino due to being tardy and absent, and trying to get the correct permission slips in for approval, which was something new for me. I even was in a fight that needed to be addressed. As I went into my junior year and later as a senior, I found that he offered gentle guidance on issues and reasons for why things happened. He was firm. He also encouraged and direct students to be exactly that – students. Over the two years I knew him as house master, he indirectly he guided me towards collage, a place I always wanted to be but didn't see for myself. Over the years he gave limits that placed me in the right direction.

I am now not a product of my own demise, but someone of credit and education. I believe that the pushes and fairness that Mr. Bellino did for me in High School gave me initial direction and believe in myself towards becoming what I am today. For that, I am very, very grateful. May you rest in peace John and thank you for all of your help and efforts.
