Luella May Butler, age 105 passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side.
She was born in Rawsonville, VT June 19, 1909 the daughter of George and Flora (Wheeler) Place. At the age of 6 she and her family moved to Cavendish and then Proctorsville where she resided for the rest of her life
Luella was married to Roy A. Butler on June 9, 1927. Besides raising her family Luella spent her working years working for Gay Brothers Mill and Kenwood’s Blanket Co in Cavendish, VT and Smithville Woolen Mill in Smithville, VT.
She was a member of the Women’s Firemen’s Auxiliary ,Proctorsville, VT. Proctorsville Grange No. 275 , and Pomona State Grange where she received the Degree of Flora in 1929.
She was a member of St. James Methodist Church and the Rebekas in Proctorsville.
She is survived by three sons, Ronald and his wife Shirley of Proctorsville, Richard of Baltimore and Ellsworth and his wife Beatrice of Cavendish; one daughter in law, Helmi Butler, 10 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, 8 Great Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Great Grandchild.
Luella was predeceased by her husband Roy in 1974, her Son Gordon in 2007, two brothers George and Edward, five sisters, Ana, Lila, Ruth, Mary and Lillian, several half-sisters. And her Great Grandson, Duane.
Graveside services will be held on Monday Sept. 22, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Proctorsville.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. James Methodist Church, Proctorsville, VT
Arrangements are under the care of the Adams Funeral Home, Ludlow.
