Services for Frank Kendall Hargis, 88, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2018 in the EMG Memorial Chapel located in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, 5205 S. First Street in Lufkin. Reverend Stephen Forrest will officiate.
Mr. Hargis was born May 17, 1930 in Gillham, AR, the son of the late Emma Belle (Graves) and Addis Rudolph Hargis, and passed away August 18, 2018 in a local nursing facility. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force. He was retired from the U.S. Post Office after 35 years of employment. He was an avid reader and also enjoyed walks around the neighborhood.
Survivors include wife of 52 years, Nora; sisters-in-law, Merle Weaver and Judy McNeil; niece and spouse, Lisa Harbuck and Joe, all of Lufkin; nephew and spouse, Billy Weaver, Jr. and Lynn of Zavalla; nephew and spouse, Ronald McNeil and Vicki of Lufkin; niece, Angela McNeil of Longview; grandnieces, Meagan Kirtley, Morgan Allen, Caitlin Weaver, Courtney Weaver; grandnephew, Christian Weaver; great-grandniece, Emberly Kirtley; and other family members.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Billy Weaver, Sr. and Dillon McNeil.
Mr. Hargis will be escorted to his final resting place by pallbearers Joe Harbuck, Billy Weaver, Jr., Christian Weaver, Ronald McNeil, Travis Kirtley and Mark Allen.
Services are in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
