Billy Gene Carr, Sr.

Billy Gene “Bill” Carr, 75 of Lumberton, Mississippi passed from this life into eternity on August 18, 2021, at Forrest General Hospital. Bill was born June 11, 1946, in Purvis, Mississippi. He was a long-time resident of Lumberton and a member of Elder Ridge Baptist Church. He drove a log truck for Tommy Boone for many years.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Claudia Louise Allen Carr; a son, Billy Gene Carr, Jr.; parents Hubert and Margaret Carr; brother J.W. Carr; sisters Helen Boone, Christine Ellis, Mag Jenkins, Jen Mooney; Doyle DeLoach and great-grandson Jeremy Marallo,

He is survived by his sons Ed Carr of Poplarville; Allen “Cooney” (Gina) Carr of Hattiesburg; and Kenny Wayne (Candle) Carr of Lumberton; daughter-in-law Darla Carr of Lumberton; grandchildren Tabitha (T.J.) Ratcliff of Petal; Hubert (Daisy) Carr of Petal; Tiffany (Frank) Marallo of Poplarville; Jessica Carr of Southaven; Stephen (Randa) Carr of Petal; Kaliegh, Kenneth, and Kadie Carr of Lumberton; great-grandchildren Austin and Olivia Ratcliff of Petal; Katelyn and Jason Marallo of Poplarville; Malaki Broome of Petal; Kairi Simmons of Petal; Preston Carr of Petal; one brother, George Carr of Lumberton and a plethora of nieces and nephews.

Services for Bill Carr will be Friday, August 27, 2021at White Funeral Home in Lumberton. Family time will be 9:00 – 10:00 AM; 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM visitation, funeral at 1:00 PM and burial at Lumberton Cemetery. White Funeral Home of Lumberton will oversee the service.
