Dakota Allen "D-Walt" Walters

Dakota was born October 27, 1999 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Leigh Ann (Fairchild) Walters and Ronnie Gene Walters. He was a 2018 graduate of Lumberton High School and played Nose Guard, Fullback, and Punter for the Lumberton Panthers. He was employed with Wright's Custom Woodworks of Lumberton. He attended Little Black Creek Baptist Church. Dakota will be best remembered for his infectious smile - being full of life; enjoying the outdoors; and spending time with his family. Dakota never met a stranger.

Dakota is survived by; father Ronnie Gene Walters and mother Leigh Ann (Fairchild) Walters; brother Kenneth Dewayne "Bubba" Walters; paternal grandfather Ronnie Gene Walters, paternal grandmother Tishie Lorraine Warden Walters, maternal grandfather Kenneth Earl Fairchild, maternal grandmother Barbara Ann (Brown) Fairchild, maternal great grandparents Allen and Faye Brown, uncle Steven Walters, uncle Nathan Walters, uncle James (Victoria) Gamble, uncle Shane (Alleen) Fairchild, uncle Cody Fairchild, cousin Kolton Fairchild, cousin Kylee Fairchild and cousin Miranda (Jon) Woodruff.

Dakota was preceded in death by his great grandfather, Allen Brown; great grandmother, Izella Warden; and great uncle Curtis Sam Warden.

Funeral services will be held at White Funeral Home, 102 North 1st Street, Lumberton, MS, 39455 on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Jesse Ladner and Rev. Ron Alexander will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery, Lumberton. The family will receive friends and have visitation from 11:00 am until services, Tuesday at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers are Zach Jones, Charles Brown, Jonathan Ladner, Anthony Harry, Adrian Bowens, Kody Lancaster, James Gamble and Donald Ray Walters.
