Jody Lamar Thompson

Jody Lamar Thompson departed this life into God’s presence on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at the age of 46. He was born to Charles Lyn Thompson and Deborah Lynn Hollinghead on February 28, 1977 in Lumberton, Mississippi. Jody was a lifelong resident of Lumberton and a member of Baxterville Baptist Church. After graduating Lumberton High School, Jody graduated from Antonelli College where he received his certification as a Paralegal. He loved art and music, the Chicago Bulls and loved to laugh and enjoy life to its fullest.

Jody is preceded in death by his father, Charles Lyn Thompson; stepfather, Dale Reid; maternal grandparents, William Norris Hollinghead of Lucedale, MS and Mollie Bounds of Lumberton, MS: paternal grandparents, Carsey and Olla Mae Thompson of Baxterville, MS and W.E. and Obelia Reid of Lumberton, MS; his sister, Amy Thompson; and his wife, Codi Thompson.

Left to forever cherish his memory are his mother, Deborah Reid of Lumberton, MS; brother, Billy Dale Reid of Lumberton, MS; his niece; Greenleigh Reid and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 12:00 pm. Friends are invited to join the family for visitation from 10:00 am until the service begins. Burial will immediately follow in Baxterville Baptist Church Cemetery assisted by Norris Hollinghead, Albert Hollinghead, Austin Hollinghead, Matthew Hollinghead, Billy Hollinghead and Michael Allen serving as pallbearers.
