Lawrence Mason Owens

Lawrence Mason Owens, 92, of Luling, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018 in Ashton Manor Assisted Living in Luling, Louisiana.

Mr. Owens was born July 30, 1925 in Lumberton, Mississippi to H. Oscar Owens and Daisy C. Jones Owens. He was a World War II, United States Navy Veteran; a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 3750; and retired in 1982 from Monsanto Chemical Company. He loved playing dominoes and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, the love of his life, Betty Gray Owens; and his eldest son, Mason Owens.

"Grandaddy" is survived by one son, Marty (Janet) Owens; two grandsons, Steven (Vicki) Owens, Michael (Kim) Owens; three granddaughters, Claire (Michael) Taulbee, Pamela (Nicholas) Petit, Sarah (Kyle) Piehet; thirteen great grandchildren; daughter-in law, Ruby Nell Owens and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Funeral services will be at WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 102 North 1st Street, Lumberton, MS, 39455 on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 12:00 pm. Rev. Jesse Ladner and Rev. Curtis Gibson will officiate the service. Burial with military honors will follow in Lumberton City Cemetery. The family will receive friends and have visitation from 9:00 am until services, Wednesday at the funeral home.
