Mason Thompson

Mason Thompson, departed this life into God's presence on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at the age of 89. He was a faithful member and Deacon at Baxterville Baptist Church. He was a loving and wonderful dad, husband and grandfather. Mason served his country in the United States Army. He was a master carpenter who enjoyed sharing his carpentry skills with his grandsons and sons-in-law, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship and dedication. He loved being a part of any building projects that his family was involved in. Mason was a hardworking man who loved his family dearly. He raised his four daughters to work hard and taught them his shooting skills and enjoyed working in the yard with them. Mason will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marjorie Thompson; one brother, Bobby Thompson and one sister, Blanche Entrekin.

Mason leaves to cherish his memory to his loving wife of 68 years, Ellen Thompson; four daughters, Roxanne Herrington (Ray), Margie Thompson, Laura Smith and Pam Thompson; one sister, Caroline Entrekin; seven grandchildren, Shellie Switzer, Joe Keith, Kimberly Brun, Calen Brun, Steve Lowe, Rob Lowe and Mason Smith; 16 great-grandchildren, Allison Stafford, Thomas Stafford, Stella Joiner, Rhett Joiner, Gracie Brun, Juliette Brun, Liam Brun, Tate Lowe, Brooks Lowe, Steelie Lowe, Hudson Lowe, Lynix Lowe, Rose Lowe, Lily Lowe, Hayden Freeman and Cason Brun; a host of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend Mason's visitation on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, with services beginning at 11:00 am at Baxterville Baptist Church, located at 625 Gulf Camp Road, Lumberton, Mississippi. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with Joe Keith, Calen Brun, Steve Lowe, Rob Lowe, Mason Smith and Ray Herrington serving as pallbearers.
