Ruby V. Piercy Simmons

Mrs. Simmons was born June 9, 1927 in New Augusta, Mississippi to Albert Floyd White and Gracie Viola Tisdale White. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Purvis and had retired from Movie Star, Incorporated in Purvis and had previously worked for Lumberton Manufacturing and The Realliance in Hattiesburg. She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers and being outside in her yard. Above all, she was devoted to her family and church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Marshall E. Piercy; her second husband, Thomas E. Simmons; and one granddaughter, Carmen Dixon.

Family members include her four children, Anthony T. Piercy and his wife Jessica, Kenneth E. Piercy and his wife Linda, Sue Green and her husband Jerry, Cathy Piercy; two sisters, Anita Crosby, Florence White; four brothers, Bobby Dean Girdley, Fred White, David White, Charles White; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at White Funeral Home, 102 North 1st Street, Lumberton on Friday, November 23, 2018 at 3:00 pm. Brother Chuck Lee will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Slade Cemetery in Purvis. The family will receive friends and have visitation from Noon until services, Friday at the funeral home.
