Scottie was the kind of man who seemed to have a built-in radar for people who needed a hand—and if you happened to be within range, chances are he was already on his way. Selfless by nature and steady in his work, he showed his care in the most practical, down-to-earth ways: showing up, pitching in, and sticking with a job until it was truly done.
He was an outdoorsman at heart, happiest with fresh air and time well spent, especially when fishing was involved. Scottie also had the hands-on spirit of a true tinkerer—always adjusting, fixing, improving, and figuring things out as he went, not for recognition, but because that’s simply how he was built.
And then there was Scottie’s gift for conversation. He loved talking, socializing, and yes, debating, which often sounded more like arguing. Whether it was friendly back-and-forth or a full-on discussion that somehow circled back to the same point three times, it was never just noise; it was how he connected. His humor kept things lively, and his kind heart kept them warm.
Scottie also brought that same hardworking, generous energy into the kitchen. Cooking wasn’t just about the food—it was another way of taking care of people, another reason to gather, and, if the moment called for it, another opportunity to get in one more good story or playful argument.
Scottie will be remembered for the laughter he sparked, the help he gave without hesitation, and the steady goodness he carried into everyday life.
Scottie is preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Sherry Bilbo Beall and one son, Michael Kee.
Left to forever cherish Scottie's memory, his loving wife of 31 years, Pamela Bilbo; three children, Jessica Cuevas, Julie Turnage and Jessica Palmer; seven grandchildren, Dylan Walker, Logan Cuevas, Pete Cuevas, Braxton Turnage, Emma Turnage, Jack Turnage and Michael A.
