Dorothy Ann Parker

Dorothy Mixon Parker, 78, of Lumberton died Thursday, February 26, 2015 at home.

She was born in Rock Hill, York County, SC on June 15,1936; a daughter of the late Earl and Myrtle Moss Mixon.. Mrs. Parker was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church where she had been active in the Good Samaritan class. Mrs. Parker was a Registered Nurse for over 40 years. Buddy and Dorothy had been married for 55 years. Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Quinn and Earlene Wright and two brothers; Frank Mixon and Melvin Mixon.

She is survived by her husband; Rabon “Buddy” Parker. Sons; Rabon Durran “Randy”Parker and wife Debbie Parker; Richard Anthony Parker and wife Beth Parker both of Lumberton and Rory Brian Parker of Lumberton... Daughter; Robin Renee Parker Meekins and husband Craig Meekins of Preston, MD. Grandchildren; Shannon Parker Webster of Albemarle, Patrick Parker, Brandon Parker ,Jennifer Pena and Michael Parker all of Lumberton. Amber N. Parker of Lumberton and Rosa Isabella Parker of Cary and Sarah Meekins of Maryland. five great-grandchildren, Caleb and Lucas Lefler, Abigail Parker, Keyera McQueen and Reece Durham.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 1, 2015 at 6:00 P. M. at Long Branch Baptist Church by Pastor Jeff Broadwell. Burial will be Monday, March 2, 2015 at 11:00 A. M. in New Hollywood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:00 P. M. prior to the service

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Long Branch Baptist Church or to Community Hospice.
