

Retired T.SGT Edward “Ed” Wallace Scoggins, 83, of 03 Surry Drive Lumberton, died Saturday morning, May 18, 2012 at Southeastern Hospice House. He was born to the late Alice Jolly and James Andrew Scoggins on October, 4 1928 in Robeson County.
He was an Army veteran and served in the Korean War where he earned the Purple Heart and several other medals. He also served in the Air Force where he retired in 1974.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Wilton, Leonard, and Leon Scoggins also a sister Lois Grimmer.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife Brenda Herring Scoggins.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Julia Grooms, Arleen Sarvis and husband Ryan and son James Scoggins. 8 Grandkids, Billy and wife Brooke, Johnny and wife Kimberly, Joseph Grooms and wife Audrey, Melissa and Jonathan Bullard, Christa and Gary Dudding, Heather Bentley, Gunger Grimsley and Andrea Scoggins. 13 Great Grandkids, Kelsey Richardson, TJ and Marissa Oxendine, Zeke, Jayden, Makenzie, Kyleigh, Paxton, Nicholas and Jacksen Grooms, Patrick and Yazmin Dudding, and Evan Bentley. Special Family Friends Robbie S. Allen and Henry Grimsley and several nieces and nephews.
