

Bernita “Bunny” Roussel Pollet, age 85, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at her daughter’s residence in Baton Rouge. She was a native of Paulina and a long-time resident of Lutcher. Bernita is survived by: her children Dean and wife Hallie, Paul and wife Pam, Greg and wife Karen, Theresa Bergseid and husband Keith, Peter and wife Petty, 19 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Iris Pollet Lanson,Ethel Millet Pollet brother-in-law Shelton “Cotton” Pollet. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Carl J. Pollet, her parents Ovide J, Roussel, Sr. and Armantine Allen Marchand Roussel, brothers Allen B. Roussel and Ovide J. Roussel, Jr., half-brothers Murphy Marchand and Clarence Roussel, half-sisters Iola R. Guidry, Eula Roussel, Myrtle R. Alleman, Frances R. Carambat. A life-long member of St Joseph Catholic Church, she taught CCD to 1st graders for several years, volunteered at St Vincent de Paul and was a committed adorer at the Perpetual Adoration Chapel until early 2012. She was strong in her faith, loving, generous and never complained. Bernita was a talented artist, competitive Scrabble player and had outstanding wit. Visitation will be Saturday, June 16th at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina from 8:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Following Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Entombment in the St. Joseph Mausoleum.
