

Carol Weiby Bourgeois passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2014 at the age of 88. A native of Iowa and a longtime resident of Gramercy, La. Carol was the most loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Loving wife of the late Henry Joseph Bourgeois, Jr. She is survived by her children; Margaret Bourgeois, David Bourgeois, Stephanie Bourgeois and Carolyn(Paul) Bossier. Also survived by her grandchildren; Patrick and Claire Bossier and Henry and Melvin Istre and 9 great grandchildren and one sister-in-law; Verda Weiby. She is preceded in death by her children; Sharon and Michael Bourgeois and Juanita Istre, her parents; Jens Theodore and Bertha Weiby, her siblings; Teddy and Glenn Weiby and Agnes Blekfield. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She retired after 18 years as a tour guide with San Francisco Plantation. Carol was instrumental in developing the local cancer support group with Cancer Services of Baton Rouge. She was very active with the RCIA Program for over 20 years, Eucharistic minister to the home bound for many years, member of the Catholic Daughters, Eucharistic adorer and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a night wake at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, 2208 Jefferson Hwy Lutcher, La 70071, on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 6PM-9PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina, La. From 9AM till 10:45AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM.
